Contemporary Art Engagement
Have you noticed that spending time in a museum makes you calm and focused? Have you often felt that looking at artworks, really looking, ignites a little fire in your brain? That discussing a topic with others gives you a sense of connection and wellbeing?
Then my contemporary art engagement program is for you.
An art engagement program using the artworks of our time, Sabine’s sessions are centred around the idea of object-based looking: taking time to be with each artwork to let its stories and our reactions unfold.
About Sabine
I believe in the power of art to enrich our lives. Art can improve mental and physical well-being, and I am passionate about making it accessible for everyone. After six years as a lawyer, I returned to my first love: art. I studied at the Courtauld Institute of Art and Christie's Education, London, and hold a Certificate in Museum Education from the University of Houston.
My work has included teaching at the Museum of Fine Art in Houston and consulting for CW+, the charity managing art for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. These experiences and a personal understanding of mental health have shaped my belief in art as vital to wellbeing.
I focus on overlooked voices in art history and enjoy creating classes and tours that challenge perspectives while remaining inclusive. Art brings joy and connection to me, and I aim to share that feeling with others.
Upcoming London Art Tours
Frieze London Tour
Sunday 19 October, 2.30-4pm
£40,-per person
(Please note that a ticket to Frieze is not included - tickets available on the official Frieze website)
Meeting Point: To be confirmed via email a few days before the date
Join me for this popular yearly tour and let's explore the fair together! I will point out this year's most talked about booths as well as the hidden gems that often get lost in the visual noise. We will also explore up and coming artists at the Focus section and the exciting curated presentation 'Artist-to-Artist' where leading artists propose work by emerging artists.
Frieze Sculpture Tour
Wednesday 29th october, 3.00-4.30pm
£25,- per person
Meeting Point: Frieze London on Google maps (meet at the gate on Outer Circle opposite Park Square)
Join me on a tour where we will engage deeper with art: by looking mindfully, sharing personal impressions and reflecting on major themes in contemporary art. This year’s Frieze Sculpture curated by Fatos Üstek sets the artworks against the backdrop of nature. It includes thirteen incredible works by both emerging and internationally known artists, all around the theme of ‘Shadows’ - which can be interpreted materially but also symbolically: the shadows of the turbulent times we live in.
This tour is part of ART TO MIND - my program of deeper art engagement for mental wellbeing

Artist Studio Visit: Mirceã Teleaga and Minyoung Choi
Saturday 1st November, 11-12.30
Meeting point: TBC (Hackney Wick)
£35,- per person
Join me on my next artist studio visit to Hackney Wick, a creative part of London with its graffitied canals and quirky cafés. We will visit the studios of Romanian-born Mirceã and South-Korean-born Minyoung, who met at the Slade School of Art. Both are starting to get traction in London and internationally, each with a very distinct painting language influenced by their backgrounds. There is nothing better than seeing the artist and their process close up!
London Private Art Tours
The Art Tours are 1,5 to 2hrs long and take place on site, visiting a museum, a few smaller galleries, or public artworks outside. The sessions are inclusive, fun and engaging. By closely looking at artworks, we will unravel the mysteries and pleasures of art together. The tours will offer a safe space in which you can think, talk and make new connections, and connect with other art lovers.
Prices: from £195,-

Art Engagement Sessions
The Engagement sessions are 1 hour long and theme-based. They are brought to you either on Zoom or in the classroom. The theme is attuned to the interests of your audience. An A-level art history class? We will pick a theme that is current in the curriculum and use contemporary artworks to shine a new light on preconceived ideas.
An organisation with immigrant learners? We can talk about artworks by immigrant artists and how their rich experiences of being part of different cultures forms the basis and strength of their work. Whatever your interest and needs, my sessions aim to make the art experience relevant for YOU.
